About Centre for Healthcare Assistive Robotics Technology (CHART)

CHART provides a collaboration space and platform that enables healthcare professionals to work closely with industry, academia and research institutions to co-develop and testbed impactful healthcare solutions in assistive technology and robotics. CHART will achieve this through: conducting technology roadmapping with solution providers to define healthcare and technological requirements; providing user insights to co-design and develop healthcare solutions; carrying out trials to validate effectiveness of solutions and solutions adoption.

At a national level, CHART collaborations converge with Singapore's vision of being a Smart Nation. CHART will also become a launch pad for the National Robotics Programme, a multi-agency initiative that coordinates and supports the end-to-end development of robotics technologies.

Sited at CGH, CHART comprises the following:
  • Design Lab: Plug & play engineering lab space equipped with lab work-benches and materials where external partners are able to work on joint projects and carry out joint workshops with healthcare professionals to understand user insights and incorporate into developed solutions.
  • Mock-up area cum training space: New solutions and models of care de-veloped in the Design Lab can be validated in a simulated hospital envi-ronment such as wards, clinics and minor surgery room before further scaling in the actual hospital.

About Eastern Health Alliance

The Eastern Health Alliance (EHA) is the regional health system for the people of eastern Singapore.

Officially launched on Nov 18, 2011, it is in line with the national direction to make healthcare ongoing rather than episodic especially for people with long-term chronic conditions like diabetes, stroke, cancer, lung and heart disease. Singapore's population is ageing and the prevalence of such conditions is growing, especially among the elderly, making patient care more complex.

The Eastern Health Alliance seeks to gradually reshape current models of healthcare to meet these challenges. Guided by its vision "Towards Seamless Quality Care - Together", Eastern Health Alliance members are focused on progressively delivering - through their combined expertise - an integrated range of healthcare services, from disease prevention, early detection and treatment, through to ongoing care, providing the right quality care at the right time for each patient. The overall objective? To make each patient's healthcare journey as hassle-free, assuring and convenient as possible, while educating, empowering and supporting them and caregivers to manage their health well, in order to live as healthily for as long as possible.

The founding partners of the Eastern Health Alliance are Changi General Hospital, Health Promotion Board, St. Andrew's Community Hospital, SingHealth Polyclinics and The Salvation Army Peacehaven Nursing Home.

TTSH is part of the National Healthcare Group, providing holistic and integrated patient care.

With a strong quality culture steeped in patient safety, TTSH constantly challenges itself to provide faster, better, cheaper and safer care for pa-tients. To achieve this, the hospital keeps abreast and believes in investing in its staff, facilities, medical technology and system improvements. In rec-ognition of its commitment to excellent patient care and its comprehensive range of quality healthcare services, TTSH has been awarded the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification as well as the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.

Alexandra Health System (AHS) is a regional healthcare system established on 1 April 2008 to take care of the 700,000 residents living in the northern part of Singapore.

AHS manages the 590-bed Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun, which opened in June 2010. To better integrate care and serve the community, AHS has built the new Yishun Community Hospital which received its first patients in December 2015. It will add about 428 beds for sub-acute, rehabilitation, dementia and palliative care. AHS will also manage a new medical centre in the Admiralty Integrated Development in 2017. Admiralty Medical Centre will further strengthen the primary care network in the north, allowing pa-tients with chronic conditions to be managed outside an acute hospital set-ting. AHS will operate the new Sembawang Primary Care Centre which will adopt a new model of care to manage patients with chronic conditions. The cluster is also developing the 1,800-bed Woodlands Integrated Health Cam-pus which will progressively open from 2022. It will comprise a general hos-pital, community hospital and a nursing home.

AHS' goal is to make a difference to the population in the north by working together with our partners and empowering the community and residents to manage their health for life.
